January 22nd Rally for Life
THANK YOU TO ALL who came to the Jan. 22, 2021 Rally for Life! Special thanks to our wonderful speakers.
- Pastor Derek Wilson opened the Rally. He ministers to a large congregation at the Spirit of Love Center on West Market St., and helped to found the Destiny Academy to help African-American children gain a good education. He is a founder of Black Families Matter, seeking to ‘change the narrative.’
- Angela Minter is president and co-founder of Sisters For Life and a sidewalk counselor. Sisters for Life advocates in the Ky Legislature for pre-born babies, and supports moms, dads, and families faced with an unplanned pregnancy. She serves on many boards including BSideUForLife.
- Marilyn Parker is the Louisville Metro Council member for District 18 which includes eight suburban cities and numerous neighborhoods in east Louisville. She is a critical care nurse at UofL Hospital, and serves in the Southeast Christian Church youth ministry.
- Father Adam Carrico closed the Rally with a prayer and comments. He is pastor of the Church of the Ascension, and is active in mental health ministry and advocacy. Father Adam has a youth and young adult outreach, and has been active in Right to Life events.
- New KRLA Exective Director Addia Wuchner thanked the group for their support and spoke about her call to the new post.
