Right to Life of Louisville takes our responsibility to protect innocent human life seriously, which is why we will not stop our work until abortion is unthinkable in our community! We also recognize our responsibility to support those women and families who have chosen life, despite difficult circumstances. This is why Right to Life of Louisville partnered with Louisville Students for Life to create our Pregnant & Parenting Scholarship Program in 2022.

Scholarship Policy Description

Our scholarship provides financial assistance to single mothers pursuing a degree by assisting with tuition costs. Funds are paid directly to the recipient’s school to ensure they are applied toward educational expenses. To qualify, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program and have a child aged 6 or younger. This scholarship is designed to support single moms in furthering their education while balancing the demands of early motherhood.

1. Scholarship Details

• Purpose: To empower single moms to further their education, enhancing their ability to provide for their children and build a better future.
• Eligibility: Single mothers enrolled in a degree program (full-time or part-time).
• Award Amount: $5,000
• Use of Funds: Tuition 
• Geographical Area: Recipients must reside within 30 miles of Louisville area

2. Timeline & Application Process

• • Application Opens: October 1st
  • Application Deadline: January 30th
  • Review Period: February 
  • Winner Notified: March (Poof of Spring enrollment) 

• Winner Recognition: Annual Gala (March 18, 2026)

• Funds Distributed to School: Fall 2026 Semester

3. Application Requirements

• A short essay or video about their education and motherhood journey
• Proof of enrollment in a degree program (fall and spring enrollment schedule)
• Letter of recommendation (optional)
