An iconic landmark which once stood at 136 West Market Street, otherwise recognized as the local “abortion mill” is no longer standing! It was at this location in Louisville where over 100,000 babies lost their lives over a period of 43 years, according to the clinic’s historical records. The demolition in mid-April signified the end of decades of the extermination of pre-born babies, the pain and agony of parents, and the suffering of families for generations to come.
For years, faithful pro-life advocates stood outside that building offering prayer and solace for desperate and confused men and women. Sidewalk counselors, such as Angela Minter, saved the lives of many babies with her relentless, outspoken devotion to those mothers and fathers. Our beloved friend, Donna Durning, showed up morning after morning with her “clicker” to report an accurate count of women walking into that clinic. We have listened to Ed Harpring lovingly recount stories of a homeless man he befriended while ministering to women at the site. Oh, if those sidewalks could speak, a beautiful chorus of God’s mighty warriors for life would reverberate throughout the city of Louisville!
On Saturday, June 20, Right to Life of Louisville joined the Sisters for Life in their 18th Annual Life Celebration and Prayer Father’s for Life Day Walk which made a prayer stop at this site from 9:00-10:00 am to publicly praise the destruction of the building that wrecked so many lives.
